Joshua Whitehead is an Ojibwe-nehiyaw Two-Spirit member of Peguis First Nation (Treaty 1). He is the author of full-metal indigiqueer (TalonBooks, 2017), which was shortlisted and longlisted for numerous awards. His novel, Jonny Appleseed (Arsenal Pulp Press, 2018), won a Lambda Literary Award (USA) andthe Georges Bugnet Award for Fiction; it was also shortlisted for a Governor General’s Literary Award, the Amazon Canada First Novel Award, the Indigenous Voices Award, the Carol Shields City of Winnipeg Book Award, and the Firecracker Award for Fiction, and longlisted for the Giller Prize. He is currently an ABD doctoral student at the University of Calgary (Treaty 7) where he focusses on Indigenous Literatures and Cultures.
