Canisia Lubrin is a writer, critic, editor and professor. She teaches English at Humber College and Creative Writing at University of Toronto. Her work can be found in Brick, ThePuritan, The Rusty Toque, ArcPoetryMagazine, Globe & Mail, Lemonhound, The Capilano Review, Vallum, CBC, TVO and other venues. She is a Poetry in Voice poet-in-residence and served as Poetry In Voice’s National Competition judge in 2018. Lubrin is poetry editor at Humber Literary Review and advisor to Open Book. Her fiction appears in TheUnpublishedCity, an anthology curated by Dionne Brand, finalist for the 2018 Toronto Book Award. CBC named Lubrin to its list of 100 Canadian Authors to know, 6 Black Canadian Authors to Watch, 14 Canadian Poets to Watch in 2018, and 18 Canadian Women Authors to Watch in 2018 among other honours. Co-artistic director and co-host of Pivot Readings, she is Consulting Editor with Buckrider Books/Wolsak & Wynn. Lubrin holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Guelph and is the author of augur (Gap Riot Press, 2017) and Voodoo Hypothesis (Wolsak & Wynn, 2017), named a CBC Best Book of the year and nominated for the Gerald Lampert, Pat Lowther and Raymond Souster awards.

Poetry London Online Presents Arleen Paré in Conversation
In this Poetry London recording from March 2019, Governor General’s Award-winning poet Arleen Paré discusses Frances Loring and Florence Wyle in the context of her poetry collection The Girls with Stone Faces (Brick Books, 2017).
A master of the mixed-genre book, Arleen Paré is both a novelist and a poet. Her first book, Paper Trail, won the Victoria Butler Book Prize. Leaving Now, her second, was listed as an All Lit Up top ten book. Her third, a collection of poetry entitled Lake of Two Mountains, tells the story of a lake and the many relationships built up around it. The book won both a Governor General’s Literary Award and a CBC Bookie Prize. He Leaves His Face in the Funeral Car, 2015, was a finalist for the Victoria Butler Book Prize. Paré’s most recent poetry collection, The Girls with Stone Faces, describes the lives and art of two well-known twentieth-century sculptors, Florence Wyle and Frances Loring. Paré, who lives and writes in Victoria, holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in poetry from the University of Victoria.
